Hello, I'm Christian Baughman, Instrumental Music Instructor at Parkview Middle School.  My goal is to help all of my students create and perform music by instructing the knowledge, skills, and big ideas that are essential for instrumental music performance.

I'm a 1997 graduate of Drake University.  I earned my Master of Music Education degree from Boston University in 2008.  I have been teaching band since 1997 and have been with the ACSD since 2008.  My previous experience in 5-12 instrumental music education includes positions in the Des Moines, Newton, and Johnston, IA school districts.   I have also spent several seasons on the brass staff of the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps of Dubuque, IA.  Outside of school hours I serve on the faculty of the Des Moines Symphony Academy teaching private trumpet lessons.  I enjoy all of the variety, challenges, and everyday victories that make up the band experience. 

Currently, I teach instrumental music and jazz band at Parkview Middle School.
